After the release of NMC Gazette in November 2021, currently, out of the so many other popular countries, MBBS in Russia for Indian students stands apart. The MBBS course duration and the fully English medium Russian Universities offer MBBS programs which meets the NMC’s guidelines for foreign medical graduates for pursuing and appearing for licensing exams in India. And only the foreign medical graduates, who have completed MBBS from abroad medical universities fulfilling these guidelines, will be allowed to appear for Indian medical licensing exams. MBBS in Russia Eligibility 2022 for Indian Students
MBBS in Russia eligibility criteria is basic however, it provides admission on First Come First Serve Basis. After meeting these basic eligibility criteria, the candidate is eligible to get admission. And there is no admission test or entrance test.
The applicant should have least secured 50% marks in 12th standard in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for General category and for the others like SC/ST and OBC, it’s 40%.
The candidate must have completed 17 years of age by December 31st of the year of admission.
NEET Qualification is mandatory.
MBBS in Russia without NEET is not possible for Indian students because according to MCI rule imposed in 2018, Indian students must qualify NEET exam before taking admission in any foreign medical university and in order to appear for the Licensing Exam in India like FMGE which will soon be replaced by NEXT exam. Hence, Foreign Medical Graduates didn’t qualify the NEET exam will not be allowed to appear for FMG Exam. Hence, they won’t be eligible to practice medicine in India.

Duration of MBBS Study in Russia in 2022
The MBBS course in the Russian medical universities is 5.8 years or approximately 6 years, including one year of Internship. This internship and the duration apply to the bilingual MBBS course and the Fully English medium courses. The MBBS course admission is also direct in Russia, hence, there are no ILETS, TOEFL, or entrance tests are conducted.
Medium of Teaching: MBBS in Russia
Russian medical colleges and universities have 3 different types of medium of teaching of MBBS courses, which the students must check before taking the admissions.
There are fully Russian courses, English medium and bilingual MBBS courses.
Bilingual and English Courses are comparatively cheaper in the tuition fees. In the bilingual courses, the first 3 years are taught in English and then last 3 years in Russian.
But as per the latest NMC gazette released in 2021, the students who will be seeking admission after the release of the NMC gazette must take admission in MBBS program which are fully English medium only, else they won’t be allowed to appear for the licensing exams in India.

Academic Session of MBBS colleges in Russia
Academic Sessions in the Russian medical universities generally start from the month of September.
There are 2 semesters in an academic year. First semester starts from September to January and second semester from February to June. First semester examinations are held in January while the second semester exams are held in June.

There are 2 long vacations given to the students in every year, i.e. Summer vacations and Winter vacations.
Summer vacation starts from 15th July to 31st August.
