Advantages and Disadvantages of Studying MBBS in Ukraine
Honestly, there is nothing that doesn’t come with the disadvantages and advantages. For MBBS in Ukraine too, there are some disadvantages as well. As I am a professional educational consultant with MCI coaching institute, we come across students have faced some problems while their stay in the Ukraine for earning their MBBS degrees. Moreover, we also come across students who are struggling to pas the MCI exam while there are some who pass the exam right in the first attempt.
So, I will mention the disadvantages which I have personally felt during my visit to Ukraine and the disadvantages that students share with us. Let’s see:

Weather: As you are moving to a new country like Ukraine, the weather is generally colder than India, it will take a while for you to adapt yourself. Some students can like while some may struggle. This can be a big issue for some while some can enjoy the colder weather. So, waking up everyday and going to college can be a struggle for many. But I will say you can’t gain anything without genuine struggles.
Indian Food: Food is yet another thing that many Indian students living abroad complaint about in their Reviews as posted on Quora and other places. I would agree with that too but honestly, imagine it’s a foreign country, and one cannot expect to have the delicious homemade Indian meals everywhere. The good thing is that in the hostels separate kitchens are given, where 10-14 students can cook their own food. Additionally, Indian mess is also there near the hostel itself. So, think about that. As the time is passing more and more Indian restaurants are opening up therefore, I think food problems will not be a big issue in the coming years.

Loneliness: Even though there are hundreds of Indian students already there, student can still long for the country and parents. This is fine, I understand but Ukraine’s regular population is friendly and there is no racism as such.
Foreign Language: Even though most of the Ukraine’s Urban population speak English perfectly, there natives who speak native language. But here I feel learning a new language should be welcoming. Learning a new language makes you smarter and skilled.
Culture: You would have to adapt to a new culture but people in general are very friendly. Culture for the younger generation in anyways, is not an issue but yes don’t get carried away.
Distractions and focus issues: When the students are away from parents then some of them can go overboard with new culture and independence. Here even parents should constantly keep in touch with the students. It’s very easy to get carried away from the new lifestyle.
Benefits of MBBS from Ukraine for Indian students
While the cost of MBBS in Ukraine is comparatively lower than Indian private medical colleges. And considering the extreme competition in India, MBBS colleges in foreign destinations are appropriate. Here’re some of the advantages of doing MBBS in Ukraine.
Education Quality: Quality of education and the infrastructure in Ukraine medical colleges are top-notch and world class. I am talking about the renowned universities in Ukraine. Other than that the government is always willing to help the universities to get the best in terms of research and financial situations.
Cost Of Living: Cost of living and Accommodation is comparatively lower in Ukraine. And you get the European standard of lifestyle and education.
No Donations: There are no donations required that can increase cost to study or study budget for students taking admissions and that hold true for even the cheapest medical colleges in Ukraine.
No Entrance exam: There are no Entrance Exams to take admissions in MBBS from Ukraine’s medical universities.
Campus: Moreover, the extracurricular activities and beautiful sprawling campuses are another key highlight of Ukrainian medical colleges for Indian students.
Overall development: Students pursuing MBBS or other courses are timely encouraged to take part in seminars, conferences and other activities which build their confidence and increases the overall quality learning.
Recognition: Most of the Government and Private medical universities of Ukraine have been recognised by the Medical Councils all across the globe and here I am talking about WHO, MCI, UNESCO, FAIMER to name some.
Clearly, there is nothing that should stop you from taking admissions in top medical universities in Ukraine. If you have your focus right then you can earn a degree in MBBS from Ukraine and clear the MCI exam. This will happen only when you will be focus to achieve your dream.
Having said that, please note that the syllabus in Ukraine is lightly different as there are some diseases which are not there but common in India. For this, it’s always beneficial to take MCI coaching or lessons right from first year onwards.
